What we do.

Each filmmaker selected will showcase their work to industry professionals at our annual screening as well as to participate in workshops and panel discussions with their peers.

As well as screening a range of documentary and narrative fiction shorts to the public, we host panel discussions with industry professionals.

There will be the opportunity to network and connect with likeminded filmmakers and professionals for future jobs and collaborations.

In between screenings we will host workshops from production companies, camera hire houses and other relevant groups and organisations.

Fran Baker, Execute Producer for Hatchling Films based in Manchester

“It was great to be involved in the student film festival, and to see so much great work being produced by students. There’s a wealth of new film-making talent in the north which bodes well for the film and TV industries, and it’s fantastic to have this platform to celebrate the very best of it.”

Christine Blundell, Oscar winning make-up artist and founder of Christine Blundell Make-up Academy (CBMA)

"CBMA absolutely 200% supports the Northern Student Film Festival and everything that it stands for. Bring on the next generation of filmmakers!”

Dan Thorburn, Director Salt Water Town. Alumni of NSFF

“A great way to showcase work on a professional platform dedicated to up and coming film makers. I would recommend it to any aspiring northern talent.”
